Ayrburn sheds staff under voluntary redundancy scheme
Winton: "We no longer need as many people."
Former employees have told Crux that there are multiple redundancies being made by property group Winton, the owners of Ayrburn near Arrowtown.
One source says that the entire Ayrburn team were offered voluntary redundancy along with employees across the wider Winton group. The source says this is the second round of voluntary redundancies in the last 12 months at Winton.
Its claimed three Winton employees are also leaving the Queenstown Winton office plus a number of Northbrook sales staff along with seven employees from the Auckland branch and a change of role for the Ayrburn sales manager.
The claims made to Crux followed our publication of plans by Winton for a $200 million new film and TV studio near Ayrburn along with a question as to whether Winton had the financial resources to build such a facility given the relatively large number of claimed redundancies.
