Bonus content: New Regional Deal draft document
Full analysis on Friday Edition. History in the making?
A document of unusual quality and deep thought has been drafted by the QLDC in partnership with the CODC and ORC.
The document proposes a close partnership with Central Otago that includes public transport between Cromwell, Wānaka and Queenstown, coordinated electrification of our communities, improved productivity, new hospital services and a genuine pivot from mass tourism to a focus on new investment and business relationships with private enterprise.
If accepted by Central Government for development the plan has the power to join Central Otago with Wānaka and Queenstown in a meaningful, permanent way that could have formidable and exciting long term consequences.
We will have exclusive, in depth analysis of the entire draft document in tomorrow's Friday Edition - but Crux readers can access the document now using this link.
Send your initial views direct to editor@crux.org.nz or in comments below so that we can include them in our coverage tomorrow.
Hey Peter, any idea how much QLDC payed for Accenture’s “Building a world-class technology
sector in Queenstown Lakes District” report ? (Quoted in the regional deal plan)
